The poster for the 48th Régates Royales, designed by Grégory Berben, has been unveiled
The Cannes Yacht Club is not one to “rest on its laurels,” and organizes - as it does every year—not only numerous European and world championships, but also the famous Régates Royales. The 48th edition will take place from September 19 to 26, 2026.
More than 150 classic sailboats, among the most beautiful vessels on the planet—including the sublime designs of the Scottish architect William Fife III, and the Americans Nathaniel Herreshoff and William Gardner— are expected in the harbor of Cannes.
It is a tradition: each year, the Cannes Yacht Club commissions a renowned painter to create the official poster for the world’s largest gathering of traditional sailing yachts.
Unveiled on June 10, 2026, at the Carlton Beach Club—a long-standing partner of the Régates Royales, just like the city of Cannes and the Palais des Festivals—this original creation is by Grégory Berben.
At 52, this self-taught artist draws his inspiration primarily from the streets, newspapers, and everyday life, which he captures as snippets of life.
He breathes new life into old urban posters, which he cuts, tears, and assembles into original collages—true puzzles of images and words.
His colorful, luminous, and playful canvases, featuring a joyful yet orderly chaos, invite contemplation. A native of Cannes, he has exhibited in New York, Hong Kong, Paris, Saint-Paul de Vence, Monaco, and Cannes, where his studio is located in the Suquet district, overlooking the old port.
“I was a professional coach and director of a tennis club for many years. I am not at all a sailing expert. I regularly attend the Régates Royales, which I love, accompanying sick children through an association I run,” explains the artist.
